Disney Imagination announced as new cruise ship for Tokyo
Today, Disney Cruise Line announced the name of the first Disney cruise ship that will sail from Japan: Disney Imagination.
Launching in spring 2029, Disney Imagination will become the 10th ship in the growing Disney fleet. Operated by Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (OLC), the same company that owns and operates Tokyo Disney Resort under licence from Disney, it will be a Wish-class ship.
Adorning the stern will be Ariel, the Little Mermaid herself, painting the ship’s logo with a dinglehopper, with Sebastian by her side.

As a Wish-class ship, Imagination follows Disney Believe, launching in 2027, as well as Disney Destiny, Disney Treasure and Disney Wish.
While details of restaurants, shows, bars and other onboard experiences have yet to be announced, we expect many of the features that have become core to the Wish-class ships. Disney has released some concept art, which we’ve shared here.
We’re very excited about this one, being so close to home in Australia. We’ll be following the news very closely.
