Disney Adventure delays Maiden Voyage to March 2026

The highly anticipated new Disney Cruise Line ship pushes back its debut sailing by almost four months.

Disney Cruise Line has announced that the maiden voyage of the Disney Adventure will be delayed. Originally scheduled to set sail on 15 December 2025, the ship will now welcome its first guests on 10 March 2026.

“As we work on the final touches to bring the Disney Adventure to our guests, we have encountered unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process,” said Joe Schott, president of Disney Signature Experiences, via a statement. “To ensure the experience we deliver reflects our commitment to excellence, we have made the decision to adjust our timeline.”

The updated maiden voyage in March 2026 will mark a milestone moment for Disney Cruise Line as it expands into Asia for the first time, opening up fresh itineraries and markets. Guests with bookings before the 16 March 2026 are expected to receive direct communication from Disney regarding rebooking options.

Guests unable to sail on the new date can request a full refund plus a 50% discount on a future cruise (valid until March 31, 2027), if they apply by September 21. All other passengers are also eligible for a full refund or may rebook another sailing at 50% off within the same period.

This news comes off the back of several major changes in the region. Earlier this year, Disney announced that they were pulling out of the Australia and New Zealand market, leaving the Adventure the closest ship for that market.

Sales have been strong for the ship, with much of the first season already sold out. The impact on this change will no doubt be enormous.
