Best Travel photos of 2025: Our favourite shots from our travels
Here are our favourite travel photos of 2025 — the big landscapes, the tiny everyday scenes and the unexpected moments that made this year on the road feel special. Some of these shots took off, others quietly slipped past people’s feeds, but they all capture something we loved along the way. From live music chaos to window-seat magic and quiet corners around the world, here’s the year as we saw it — one frame at a time.
Our favourite photos
Aotearoa from above, New Zealand
A perfect sweep of Aotearoa New Zealand from the window seat as we flew into Wellington — green hills, blue sea, and a classic Qantas wing cutting through the view. This one was even liked by Qantas, who shared it on their Instagram with thousands of likes.
Sydney Harbour through a porthole
A classic Sydney moment framed through a cruise ship porthole — the Sydney Opera House, several harbour ferries, and a (mostly) sunny harbour all in one shot. We’ve sailed out of a couple of ports now, but we never get over how beautiful our home port is.
Longest stained glass ceiling at the NGV in Melbourne
The stunning stained-glass ceiling of the NGV’s Great Hall, by Australian artist Leonard French, is the longest in the world. We’ve been there many times but the lighting was just right for those long shadows across the floor. We wrote all about its history and design here.
Our first trip to South Korea
We took our first (and certainly not last) trip to South Korea this year, and it immediately became one of our favourite spots. Here we snapped Seoul framed through the vivid, painted gates of iconic Gyeongbokgung Palace. It’s a little blend of old and new in one shot.
The Haeundae Sky Capsule gliding along Busan’s coastline: bright, cheerful, and impossible not to photograph. After spending the morning at the beautiful Haedong Yonggungsa Temple by the sea, we caught the adorable trains from Cheongsapo to Mipo, landing in the Haeundae Beach area for some well-earned beers. Even the overcast skies didn’t dim the beauty of this ride.
The sculpture really does the heavy lifting here. But not too long after we returned from taking this photo in Seoul, Disney announced that it was leaving Australia/New Zealand at the end of the 2025/26 season, so this photo really spoke to me.
Breakfast in Melbourne
One of our most popular posts of all time is our guide to breakfasts in the Melbourne CBD. We think it’s because we genuinely love breakfast and love exploring all the laneways and shopfronts to start the day. We snapped this just as we first entered Captains of Industry, an all-day breakfast joint that’s part bar, part café, and shares the space with a barbershop, a tattoo remover, and a cobbler. How Melbourne is that?
Flaming Lips play Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
The crowd goes wild for the Pink Robots during The Flaming Lips’ Sydney gig. Easily one of the most joyful crowd reactions we saw all year — and the most fun we had.
BONUS: We couldn’t choose just one.
Sydney Royal Easter Show
The wood choppers lining up at the Sydney Royal Easter Show: one of the most iconic (and sweatiest) traditions of the day.
Halloween on the High Seas
As the Disney Wonder celebrated its final season in Australia, we were lucky enough to sail back-to-back on the Halloween (on the High Seas) cruise out of Melbourne. Filled with Halloween activities, trick or treating and a costume night, the stage show was a great chance to see all our favourite characters in these adorable costumes.

What’s next?
We took some great trips this year as you can see, but next year is set to be even bigger. After kicking off 2026 on the last sailing of the Disney Wonder in Australian waters, we have a massive global trip. Think Singapore, Canada, Iceland, the Mediterranean and more. You better believe we’ll have our cameras ready.
